Last Friday, the hubby picked me up from work so that we could go out for dinner and have a date night. Our original plan was to go to a place called 22 on Capitol Hill and use a Rue La La deal we had (we love our deals!) however, the place was temporarily closed for remodel :-(. Thankfully, another place we had been wanting to try for a while now, was a block away! And even better, when we were seated, we found out if we got an order in we could still make happy hour!
Off the happy hour menu, I ordered a glass of their house white and the Mr. had an Old Fashion. I wish I would have asked what the house white was as I thought it was pretty good! For happy hour food we ordered the Crab Fritters and Lamb meat balls. Both were pretty good. The meat balls were rather small (only 2 little ones) but did come in a red sauce with bread.
As both appetizers were small portions, we decided to order some more food off the regular menu. We split the Watermelon & Feta with Basil Vinaigrette and after a recommendation from the waitress the Smith Burger with blue cheese and bacon. Both were super tasty. Was definitely too much food though! Before summer ends, I definitely want to recreate a version of the watermelon salad. Such a great combination of flavors!
Overall loved our dinner here! Our server was super friendly and there was a great rustic vibe which I love! If you haven’t already, I recommend you check it out! I will definitely be going back one of these days if even just for a drink with friends!
